Mouth Dropping Moment

This was possibly one of the most funny/awkward moments of my life. Back in that day, I had this HUGE collection of Pokemon cards that I gathered over the course of about 4-5 years. One summer evening I had went to a friend's house to play and possibly trade those cards. Well on my way, I had sorted through and itemized them by each type and/or abilities. I had this book with card holders that was about the size of a full 3-ring binder. To be honest, I felt so proud of my scavenging for the most rare and valuable cards. When I got to my friends house, we greeted and started to play games and what not outside until it started to rain. My friend and I got all our cards out then we looked at each other's and decided that we wanted to play something different. Then it started to pour. We tried to get inside because it was a complete downpour. Little did I know, I had left all my best and most prized Pokemon cards outside in the rain getting soaked. I was so upset that I was moved to actual heartfelt tears. Now I know they're not that important 3 years after, I was completely devastated that day and for many weeks after. That "life-long" collection of very rare Pokemon cards was ruined. That ladies and gentlemen, is likely one of the most heartfelt, tear driven, mouth opening, moments I have ever had.

A little bit of everything...

Guess what, spring sports conditioning has just started and I'm pumped. I always look forward to getting on a sports team and meeting new friends/teammates/fellow Webbies. I am only going to play one sport this school year because I still have to juggle school work, homework, home life, and being a kid all in one. I mean, I wouldn't be kidding when I say I come home some nights and find myself piled with about four hours of homework. Once I get the hang of things, I might do other sports for years to come like baseball, cross country, and maybe, just maybe, do some soccer. I know, I know, Noah Jolley playing soccer!?! It's pretty weird that I would play soccer. Nah, I'm only kidding with you, I would play soccer every minute of mostly days I want to. I think the best way to make new friends is to get on a sports team, where you win, lose, and cry with them. A wise man once said to me, "You truly bond with a friend, when you go through the crappie times together." I wonder who that man was... The moral of the story (well blog in this case) is to try your best no matter the activity, whether academics or athletics, and to come out a better person, smarter, faster, and stronger.

What's Next?

Many of us are wondering what we want to do with our lives when we graduate high school. I personally have had a lot of different ideas of what I want to have as my profession. In this order: Marine Biologist, Historian, Archeologist, Paleontologist, Science teacher, History teacher, and maybe a Pro Soccer/Baseball player. Over the years I see advances in knowledge and technology that changes my perspective on my career. I also have considered, well actually REALLY considered going to college and getting a masters degree in one of the above "jobs". Myself and many other students at Webb want to leave our mark on the world, in a good way of course, but still be able to provide for our "future" families. I know that I want to be very successful and an excellent husband and father. It is also a good thing just to be a positively influential role model. Being a good role model can change the slightest mood of the most unlikely person, it is always the littlest things that count. I, being a Christian, believe that everybody should treat everyone with respect and kindness. Honestly, it doesn't matter if your religious or not, you should always be very nice to anyone. To do this, we need RIGHT now, to get good grades, be very courteous, and to break bad habits or we might end up with no job, no family, and no education. If we be the best us we can be, we can be successful in life with flying colors. So the moral of this blog, like Mr. L.R Smith says, is to excel in both education and morality and practice it in your everyday living.

Backpacks

I know that I'm not the only one when I say that these heavy backpacks are becoming a problem. I also know that this is a blog and I shouldn't be complaining, but I don't want to look like the Hunchback of Notre Dame by the time I'm a senior. I wish that we could store our textbooks in the respective classroom. In Mrs. Berzinskas' class we can store our books in her room. I can't say that about some of my other classes. I do understand that some rooms do not have enough storage/extra space in their room. Many students would greatly appreciate if our backpacks could havae a lighter load. Sure we need the upper body strength and what not, but it could possibly cause back problems later in life. I have not tired to take a poll or anything to see how many people want weightless backpacks. I know I sure do that I want some change with this situation. I hope that whoever reads this and goes to Webb will agree with my suggestion that we should be able to store textbooks in the classrooms. Thanks for reading and let's put this plan into action.

Pasar un rato con los amigos y familia

I have been thinking over this short time I've been at Webb so far, about how over all this homework I  have I should still have fun with friends and family. I understand that I should always try to get my work done on time, not stress over it if I do (hopefully I do), and to always make time for my family. Especially because some days I don't even get to see my mom due to her working late on nights. I want to spend time with the people around me because I do not know how much time I left with them. Now I don't want to get all heartfelt and lovey dovey, but I was always told to live each minute like if it was your last. To take a few minutes out of your day to stop doing what you're doing, no matter if it's playing video games, checking up on the latest post from your best friend, it doesn't make a difference. What does make a change in someone's life are little times that you spend with them. Go out of your way to ask them how their day was and if they need help. Just like what Mr. Smith and Mr. Wafford said, "Be nice, be the best you can be, and it is the little things that affect someone's life." I know as a fact the more you spend time with someone, the more you get to know them. It creates a stronger bond between you and another person. So the moral of the story is to be courteous, be yourself, and spend some time with one another, get to know that person.

Chapter 6 and 7 review

In chapters six and seven the sign that comes down from the world of grown ups is the dead soldier on the parachute in the beginning of chapter 6. This dead soldier symbolizes the on-going war between countires in what is called World War II. It symbolizes of why the boys on the island in the first place. They are there to escape the "real" world filled with war, pain, and suffering. Little do they know is that they are practically causing their own war between themselves on the island. I believe that the island itself represents civilization and society because it is full of resources and hardships as does real life. In chapter seven when the boys take a trip to the mountain, they find a pig-run and they decide play games to bide their time. Ralph in the beginning of the book questioned Jack and the hunters about why they were all about hunting and finding pigs while he was more about building shelters for the boys. His perspective of Jack changes thoughout this book as he started to view him as a jerk, but now he views him more clearly as a fellow leader. These are the more or less "connections" to the outside world in chapters six and seven.

Chapter 5 review

The line in the story in which the narrator said can be interpreted many ways. I think what the author means by this is that in life you have many path ways to take like for example the good ones and the bad ones. These paths are taken every day and then disperse into many different trails each time you make a decision. The littlest of decisions you make and have the largest consequences ever. One little change in your life can utterly delineate or portray your character and moral being. You make choices every day that can affect your life forever. You are who you are today because of the decisions you made yesterday. You will be a possibly totally different being the next day due to the paths you chose today. For example if lets say that you are driving and you look at your phone to see who just recently text you or said something about you on social media, that one decision of looking at your phone can decide life or death for you in that moment in time. You could get lucky and not be in a situation where you might be in a car accident, but you never now. When the narrator says that you are "looking at your feet" during your life, I believe that he is just stating that life is what you make of it. He is saying that you need to look at things in an optimistic point of view and to never take things for granted because it all could just disappear in an instant.

Chapter 4 review

The difference in life, power, and violence in the first three chapters and the change in the spectrums in the fourth chapter is in the first chapter, the boys started with a more stabilized and methodical gathering or assembly on the beach. On the shore of the beach the boys had an assembly of where they established power and leadership among the boys. The boys in the fourth chapter had been more or less in panic when the fire went out and the "litttleuns" grew tiresome of playing in the sand. When Jack had killed the pig, he left the fire unattended and so the fire became futile and was extinguished. The fire was a big symbol in the book which stood for hope because when they started the fire they saw a boat in which they thought they would be rescued. When the fire went out, The boys lost their sense of "hope" and began to utterly start to lose faith in each other and in hind sight, life itself. The boys that once had said, "This is our island" and thought that they were "invincible, and said that they would have fun until the grown ups came to rescue them. later in the book as boredom, hunger, and unrest started to appear, the boys started to worry about if they would be rescued or not.

Dear auntie,

How are you doing? I am not doing so well. Nobody listens to me anymore because they think that I am stupid and worthless. I know you would never tell me that. You would let me have all the sweets I want and you wouldn't tell me when to stop. They call me "Piggy" now. I told them that i didn't like to be called that. The boys that I'm with also make fun of my specs. I am treated like a piece of property on this island. Ralph had put me in charge of taking the names of all the boys on the island, now isn't that a job low enough to touch the ground? I miss you and I hope to see you again once I get off this island and be rescued? Oh and by the way, I am stuck on an uninhabited island with a bunch of littleuns. The only ones how are old enough to be a leader are Ralph, Jack, and I. Ralph said that whoever has the conch, will be able to speak. When it's my turn to speak, nobody listens to anything that I want to say. All I want is to have peace on this island.

Sincerely,
    Piggy

No Parents

Life or a world without parents would be cool at first, but over time you would not have anyone to govern over each other and no sense of authority. We as kids would fight for who would be leader thinking that we should be ourselves. If we could control what we ate and what we did, it would probably end up being the utmost worst thing for us. Over a length of time the whole "country" would turn to utter chaos with riots and just be a disaster. Life without parents would be a bad thing because we would not have the same experience and wisdom as the adults.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

"Some people are born with disabilities, but it's society that labels them."

Many people are born with defects or disabilities, but everyday people are the ones who belittle them. Just because people may act or think differently doesn't mean that we can just treat them like they're a percentage of a human. Like for example, someone with down sydrome may not be able to process as much as other people, but if anything they are just as normal as the rest of us. I was watching the news the other day and there was this story on a girl with down syndrome who was a cheerleader. She did as much as the cheers as she could, besides don't  we all just do things until our bodies won't let us anymore? This is why we shouldn't label people for any reason whatsoever.
